Which kernel should i choose

Before you post please read how to get help. I want to know how to determine which kernel to install. Linux Mint I think 5. Since old kernels cannot support new hardware, do new kernels provide old hardware support?

I cannot understand this by only looking into Changelogs or kernel. I'm asking this in general, but here's an example of my notebook, I'm using 5. How do I know it is the right or wrong one for my computer?
